Northern Kāhu are delighted to announce the signing of Ella Bradley for the upcoming Tauihi Basketball Aotearoa season.
Ella enjoyed a remarkable junior career winning national championships galore with Waikato age-group teams and the St Peter’s School, Cambridge senior team.
St Peter’s won four Secondary Schools National titles and finished runners-up on the other occasion during Ella’s five years at the school. She made the Tournament Team four years on the bounce.
In her final high school year St Peter’s finished a highly creditable fifth, losing only one game, at the High School World Championships in Crete.
Ella is excited about linking up again with Kāhu guard Krystal Leger-Walker.
“We played together at St Peter's in my first year winning the first of the four national titles. Krystal's leadership, game IQ, and on-court vision are awesome to play with.
“We have a great group of players, coaches, and support staff, I'm looking forward to getting started.”
Ella appreciates that a lot of work has gone into setting up the Tauihi Basketball Aotearoa League.
“I'm sure it will be a great competition – it’s exciting to be part of this new league and I'm grateful for the opportunity offered by Northern Kāhu”.
Ella has spent the last two years at Utah State Eastern University and when she returns to the States after the Tauihi season she will head to the University of Texas at Tyler to play NCAA.
Ella is thrilled to have committed to Texas at Tyler.
“The coaches are both entering their second year coaching at Tyler and are building an amazing programme with several international students. I really liked the culture they have created and the academics offered by the University of Texas Tyler are really strong.
Currently studying for a BSc in Biochemistry Ella is looking at Medical School or Graduate School for future studies.
The Kāhu play their first home game, against Tokomanawa Queens at Franklin Pool & Leisure Centre on Monday July 4. Get your tickets here!
