Northern Kāhu are delighted to announce the signing of Madison Wolf for the upcoming GJ Gardner Homes Tauihi Basketball Aotearoa season.
From Sheboygen, Wisconsin, Madison arrives in New Zealand having spent the 2021-22 European season playing in the Czech Republic for the Lokomotiva Trutnov club where she averaged 5.8 points and 11.6 rebounds per game.
The 190cm power forward enjoyed an outstanding five year career at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay playing NCAA Division I basketball.
She played 119 games for the Phoenix scoring 699 points as well as tallying 599 rebounds.
Madison also excelled academically obtaining her Master's Degree from UW-Green Bay in Applied Leadership for Teaching and Learning after receiving her undergraduate degree in Middle Childhood/Early Adolescent Education.
After graduating in 2020 Madison followed her dream of playing professional basketball by signing her first contract with Speyer Towers club in Germany.
Wisconsin-Green Bay Head Coach Kevin Borseth described Madison as, “A strong, agile and intelligent player. She is a total team player but when asked has the ability to power and finesse her way to scoring points in bunches.
“She is very aware and intelligent defensively and a fearless rebounder.”
Madison joins Micaela Cocks, Krystal Leger-Walker, Akiene-Tea Reed, Tahlia Tupaea, Ash Kelman-Poto, Jazzymyne Kailahi-Fulu, Jaycin Tini and Olivia Berry as announced Kāhu signings.
The Kāhu play their first home game, against Tokomanawa Queens at Franklin Pool & Leisure Centre on Monday July 4.
