Another local player is returning to the BNZ Kāhu with Jaycin Tini will again lacing up the sneakers.

Having endured a frustrating 2022 season in which she was restricted to just five games due to injury, the former Rangitoto College and Harbour basketball standout wants Kāhu fans to know she expects to play a full part in the 2023 campaign having worked hard to get back to fitness.

Jaycin believes the advent of the Rapid League will see her role change quite markedly.

“I will definitely have to step up for the Rapid League. I’ll be one of the senior players in that second unit so I feel my experience will be beneficial to the team.

“Then I’ll have to be ready off the bench for the Tauihi Aotearoa. I’ll certainly have to be solid all season in supporting the other players and being something of the glue guy.”

Away from the court Jaycin has been busy helping the Kāhu promote the game for younger players.

“We are working on making  a girls club, creating the opportunity for them to play more basketball, and helping connect with Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei as well.”
