Awatea Leach

 

Following high school Leach studied design at Massey University before playing a year at Collin Community College in Texas (2019-20).

Played 33 games for Collin and averaged 9.1ppg. Scored a season high 26 points against Southwestern Christian College.

 

Had a 33 points game for Gladstone Port City Power in the Queensland State League in 2022.

 

Named Port City Power player of the game after they were pipped 80-77 by Southern District Spartans in the 2023 Queensland State League Grand Final.

 

Named to the New Zealand team to play at the 2015 FIBA Oceania Championships in Rotorua but was sidelined due to injury. The Coach of that New Zealand team was current Kāhu Head Coach Jody Cameron.

 

Aunt Aroha Haumaha (née Jennings) is a former Tall Fern.
